Chris' story, process, and how the studio can assist you
Chris is originally from Norfolk, where his career began in the construction industry as a quantity surveyor. While his early career developed a strong understanding of cost, construction and commercial management, it was the design and creation of buildings that captured his imagination. This led Chris to transition into architecture.
The image opposite is one of many Norfolk manor house projects designed and built during this period — an early example of Chris's appreciation for the relationship between architecture, local context and craftsmanship.
Chris Heal Architecture was founded by Chris in 2025, following several years working with award-winning architectural practices in the North East and UK. Having studied at London Metropolitan University while working in practice, Chris obtained valuable experience across all levels of architecture, from concept design to understanding how to navigate planning & building regulation requirements, through to contract administration and project delivery.
Chris Heal Architecture is based in North Shields, North Tyneside, serving clients across Newcastle and the wider North East. Chris brings his experience to the studio with a clear ambition: to create architecture that is considered, distinctive and designed for people who use it.
